Interview with Opiuo – ‘Slurp And Giggle’ album launch – July 2010

At the start of July I had a chat with kiwi ex-pat and Melbourne resident glitch-master, Opiuo, just before his Christchurch set at Concrete Club. He’s currently touring to promote his new album ‘Slurp And Giggle’ and he is such a lovely chap!

The interview is currently on the Starlifter Radio playlist or you can download it from here:

Samari // Kyle Bourke // Fil Alexander @ Concrete Club

Hey yo! My friends Adelle & Anikin are a throwing a rad and freaky Electro night down at Concrete Club pretty soon in the 03 and it’ll be a party worth shakin’ down to.

In town for the party is Melbourne based Samari (luxxeparty.com), he plays tunes a cross section of tunes somewhere between Boys Noize, Mr. Oizo, the sounds of Baltimore, future funk and electro. Here’s one of his latest mixes: http://soundcloud.com/samari/samaris-sun-burn-mix

Kyle Bourke will be down from Auckland, he is the main producer/songwriter for the live DJ group Future Resonance and has remixed tunes from Kids of 88, Boh Runga, Kidz of Space and Elektrik Disko.

Another local lad will be crankin’ tunes as well, Fil Alexander. In 2009 he was signed to electro giant, Plasmapool Records, and his first release “New York Shit” received rave reviews on trackitdown.net. Be sure to catch this party peep! To hear his latest track visit: http://soundcloud.com/fil-alexander/fil-alexander-the-uplifter

So be sure to get down to The Concrete Club on Friday 19th of Feb. It’s only $5 on the door.

Peace,
Dr H
